Hamachi Crudo

Hamachi Crudo

If you're looking to elevate your next appetizer or enjoy a fresh, flavorful dish, this Hamachi Crudo is a must-try. Featuring delicate slices of sushi-grade yellowtail, this dish is dressed with a zesty combination of soy sauce, sesame oil, and yuzu juice (or lemon juice for a simpler twist), giving it a perfect balance of savory and tangy. The optional jalapeño slice adds just the right amount of heat to kick it up a notch.

Yields: 2-3 servings

Ingredients:

  • 4 ounces sushi-grade yellowtail (hamachi), thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • ½ teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 ½ tablespoons yuzu juice (or fresh lemon juice)
  • ½ jalapeño pepper, thinly sliced (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Fish: Using a sharp knife, thinly slice the sushi-grade yellowtail into delicate strips.
  2. Arrange on a Plate: Place the thinly sliced fish on a chilled serving plate, arranging it in a visually appealing manner.
  3. Make the Sauce: In a small bowl, combine the soy sauce, sesame oil, and yuzu juice (or lemon juice). Stir to mix well.
  4. Assemble the Dish: Drizzle the sauce over the fish and garnish with a thin slice of jalapeño for a touch of heat.
