Teriyaki Glazed Salmon

This teriyaki-glazed salmon is sweet, savory, and full of holiday-friendly umami flavors. The bright red fruit and soft tannins of Wattle Creek Pinot Noir California 2023 complement the richness of the salmon and the caramelized soy glaze, making it a refined yet approachable dish for festive gatherings.

Ingredients:

  • 4 salmon fillets (6 oz each)
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tsp cornstarch mixed with 1 tbsp water (optional, for thicker glaze)
  • Sesame seeds and sliced green onions for garnish

Steps:

  1. In a small saucepan, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger. Bring to a simmer over medium heat. If a thicker glaze is desired, stir in cornstarch mixture and cook 1–2 minutes until thickened.
  2. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Place salmon fillets on a lined baking sheet and brush with teriyaki glaze.
  3. Bake salmon 12–15 minutes, brushing once more with glaze halfway through cooking.
  4. Remove from oven, sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions, and serve immediately with a glass of Wattle Creek Pinot Noir.
