Buena Vista Cabernet Sauvignon Napa-Sonoma 2022

The Buena Vista Cabernet Sauvignon Napa-Sonoma 2022 reveals deep aromas of blackberries, blackcurrants, and cassis intertwined with cocoa. On the palate, it is velvety and supple, featuring concentrated flavors of ripe dark fruit and a lingering, elegant finish.

Before there were vineyards in every valley north of San Francisco, before Napa and Sonoma were household names before there was a California wine world at all, there was Buena Vista. Founded in 1857, and spanning from Sonoma and into Napa, Buena Vista is California’s first premium winery, and its history is as colorful as it is proud. Today, the legend has been re-born under the vision of Jean-Charles Boisset.

Spicy BBQ Ribs

These slow-cooked Spicy BBQ Ribs are tender, smoky, and coated in a bold, tangy glaze with just the right amount of heat. Their deep, savory richness pairs beautifully with the Buena Vista Cabernet Sauvignon Napa-Sonoma 2022, which brings structure, dark fruit, and subtle spice that cut through the sweetness and complement the char of the ribs. It’s a festive, crowd-pleasing pairing built for holiday gatherings or a cozy winter dinner.

Ingredients:

  • 2 racks pork baby back ribs (about 4–5 lbs total)
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite style)
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1–2 tbsp hot sauce (adjust to spice level)
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika

Steps:

  1. Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C). Line a large baking sheet with foil.
  2. In a small bowl, combine salt, pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder. Rub the mixture evenly over both sides of the ribs.
  3. Wrap the ribs tightly in foil and place on the baking sheet. Bake for 2.5–3 hours, until tender.
  4. Meanwhile, make the sauce by combining BBQ sauce, honey, vinegar, hot sauce, and smoked paprika in a saucepan. Simmer on low for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Once the ribs are done, remove foil and brush generously with the BBQ sauce.
  6. Increase oven temperature to 425°F (220°C) or finish on the grill. Cook for 10–15 minutes, until the sauce caramelizes and becomes sticky.
  7. Slice, serve warm, and pour glasses of Buena Vista Cabernet Sauvignon Napa-Sonoma 2022 alongside.
