Spiced Cranberry Glazed Ham

This holiday-ready Spiced Cranberry Glazed Ham is sweet, savory, and beautifully aromatic. The rich, velvety notes of ripe plum, black cherry, and cocoa in the Wattle Creek Merlot Sonoma County 2022 perfectly complement the tangy cranberry glaze and warm spices, making it a festive centerpiece for any gathering.

Ingredients:

  • 1 fully cooked bone-in ham (about 4–5 lbs)
  • 1 cup fresh cranberries
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/4 tsp ground allspice

Steps:

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C). Score the ham in a diamond pattern and place it in a roasting pan.
  2. In a small saucepan, combine cranberries, brown sugar, honey, orange juice, and spices. Cook over medium heat until the cranberries burst and the glaze thickens, about 10–12 minutes.
  3. Brush the glaze over the ham, reserving some for later.
  4. Bake the ham for 1–1.5 hours, basting every 20–30 minutes with additional glaze.
  5. Remove from oven and let rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve with remaining glaze on the side and a glass of Wattle Creek Merlot.

Serves 6-8.
