Lemon Pound Cake Loaf

Dense, buttery, and perfumed with bright lemon throughout. A classic pound cake loaf finished with a tangy lemon glaze. La Pluma's Sauvignon Blanc brings grassy citrus notes and crisp acidity that echo the lemon beautifully and keep each rich slice feeling refreshingly light.

Ingredients

  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • ½ cup butter, softened
  • 3 eggs
  • ½ cup sour cream or Greek yogurt
  • Zest of 2 lemons
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • For glaze: powdered sugar and lemon juice

Steps

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a loaf pan.
  2. Beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time.
  3. Mix in sour cream, lemon zest, lemon juice, and vanilla.
  4. Fold in flour, baking powder, and salt until just combined.
  5. Pour into loaf pan and bake 50–60 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Cool slightly, then drizzle with lemon glaze. Slice and serve.
